Chetona Barta: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today asked secretaries to ensure the current pace of development in Bangladesh.
"We have to continue our endeavours so that Bangladesh can march forward in future like it is doing now," she said.
The prime minister said this while speaking at a meeting with all secretaries of public service.
The meeting was held at the NEC auditorium. The PM joined in from her official residence Gono Bhaban.
She said the government has laid the foundation to take the country forward in the days to come.
Referring to the perspective plan and delta plan, she said, "We have to make much progress in the future."
She asked the secretaries to make sure that all plans are implemented for the country's development, keeping the perspective plan and delta plan in mind.
She said the prime task of the government is to provide better life for people at the grassroots.
"People could break free of poverty, get a better life, get a chance to avail all the basic rights including food, clothes, shelter, healthcare and education," she said.
Sheikh Hasina asked all to work sincerely to uphold the independence that came at the cost of millions of lives.
"We will take Bangladesh forward as a developed and prosperous country as we have already attained recognition as a developing country," she said.
